Stephen brings an in depth knowledge of two separate disciplines, a practical and functional knowledge of furniture production and interior architecture along with a keen eye for form and for the details that make the difference.
A very proud Grand Pappy, Stephen is always up for a challenge and keen on anything to get out of his comfort zone. Always designing, making, building or demolishing something – whenever he puts his pencil down or takes his boots off, family is precious, travel and good food are essential.
Living the dream :-
A very large rum and coke in the sun with all of the family, a house that’s finished, Medium Rare beef fillet and triple cooked chips and a Vintage Ford GT40 in the garage.
Sam Joined Stephen neall interiors in 2004 as a junior designer, working alongside Stephen and the senior design team. Sam’s roll was all encompassing, regularly undertaking medium to large scale projects gaining him a wide scope of design related and hands on experience.
In 2009 the company took a new direction, investing in luxury Italian furniture brands and in particular Poliform. Sam was instrumental in developing relationships with new suppliers and the transformation of The Factory building to create a new emporium for luxury interiors and a mono brand store for Poliform.
The inspiration gathered from regular visits to international design shows and the creative influences of his peers has elevated Sam to new heights. Sam has now taken the roll of Design Manager at Poliform North.
Building a dedicated ‘fun’ design team, Sam now inspires the next generation of designers, keen on building strong foundations for the future of Poliform North.
Brian joined the company in 1998 and was instrumental in pushing the business into the computer age. Having started as a trainee and under the tuition of Stephen, he has learnt from the vast experience and creative mind of his mentor and developed into one of the senior designers in the business.
Dealing with both domestic and commercial clients, Brian has built up a reputation of his own ensuring clients often return, providing them not only with individual design, but a personal service. Approaching all his jobs with a hands–on “can do” attitude, he is not only able to understand how to design, but how to “put it together” too.
A keen all-round sportsman, keeping fit is something he enjoys come rain or shine, The Great Knaresborough bed race being one of his annual events. A keen DJ, the vinyl might not get played as much as it used to, but music is still a big part of his life. Since getting married though all the above have taken second place to family life with Claire, Alfie & Elsa.
Andy has worked with Stephen Neall since 1985. Initially as understudy to Stephen he is now a key member of the team. He has over the years been involved in securing some of the most prestigious projects undertaken by the company.
Immensely passionate about design, attention to detail and driven to deliver the very best from both himself and the team around him, he constantly strives for perfection.
Much travelled with two years spent globetrotting in the early eighties Andy is a keen sportsman who enjoys cycling, gym and hill walking, the latter a hobby he shares with his lovely wife Jane.
Laura joined Stephen Neall in 2012 after completing a work placement as part of her university degree. Since then, under the guidance of Brian, Laura has gained a vast amount of experience and a technical understanding of the design process from concept through to completion. Laura has also project managed the design and renovation of both her parents and her own home which has given her the perfect hands on experience.
Specialising in 3D design, Laura loves bringing concepts to life using computer generated models to create rendered images which help clients visualise their dream home.
Away from work Laura loves to travel and see how other cultures and their landscapes differ from her own. Favourite places and activities include zip wiring in Costa Rica, white water rafting in Glacier National Park, hiking the Grand Canyon and a helicopter flight over NYC.
Interior designer first – very closely followed by total dog lover…
Being confident, determined and creative are key parts of such a fast paced design office.
Beki has a passion and love to see how things are manufactured, especially how things can grow from a simple doodle to amazing full house interiors.
Over-organised and driven for maximum efficiency is a key to her work.
Free time is mostly spent doing DIY and dog walks with puppy Luna. She will however grab any chance to travel she can – Iceland and Amsterdam being her top picks so far.
Sadie-Mae has a penchant for everything design, from dreaming of beautiful homes to her extensive handbag collection.
Sadie is forging a career at Stephen Neall as the freestanding furniture specialist, having started at Stephen Neall in 2015, while studying Interior Architecture, she is now part of the furniture.
Sadie likes to push the boundaries with her design capabilities. Sadie-Mae will know she has made it in this industry when she owns a Baxter sofa.
Christine joined the Stephen Neall Group on the auspicious date of September 11th, 2001, in a bid to rescue Stephen from an ever-increasing backlog of accounts administration. She is still here and continues to spend her time attempting to keep the company finances running smoothly, despite the best efforts of everyone else. Her main role, however, is that of company spell checker.
Blissfully married with 3 sons, Christine’s main hobbies include laundry, taxi-ing and professional nagging. On a good day, however, she likes to indulge in a pint or 3 of real ale and an earful of rock and roll.
She makes vague attempts to keep fit by swimming and walking. And there’s the extreme sports of course………only kidding.
